The Captain Sir Tom Moore Challenge
As a school, we were so sorry to hear of the passing of Captain Sir Tom Moore, who raised more than £32million for the NHS. We would like to commemorate his 100 years by setting the school community a challenge.
100 Good Deeds for 100 Years of Captain Sir Tom Moore.
The challenge is for you to send photos of the Fitzjohn’s children, parents, staff and governors doing good deeds and hopefully, we can reach 100 photos by the end of this half term break.
Please note that all photos sent in will be put onto our social media channels, so we ask you to consider this before submitting any images to us.
Some examples of good deeds:
· Washing up
· Setting the table
· Baking / cooking
· Sending a card to a friend or family member who needs cheering up
· Helping a sibling
· Helping a parent
Fitzjohn's Virtual Poetry Performance Contest
We are very excited to announce that we will be holding the first ever Fitzjohn's Virtual Poetry Performance Contest at the start of next term, as a way to help bring the whole school together when we are sadly still very much apart.
Children are invited to select a poem, from a selected list (appropriate for their Key Stage) to learn off by heart. Children who would like to compete will need to prepare their poem to perform, record it and send into their teacher of their class on/by Friday 5th March.
Two winners from each class will then go forward into the next round and compete in Key Stage finals on Monday 15th March.
Recorded Heats: Send the recording to your teacher by/on Friday 5th March
Live Key Stage Finals: Monday 15th March?
Learning a poem is a great, non-screen based activity that all the family can join in with so have a look through our poem pack and choose your favourite today!
